MFA Best of Show Peter Infelise Takes Us Through Time on Route 66

May 19, 2009

Peter Infelise, 2009 MFA Graduate, took two years to complete his senior thesis. But, it’s a masterpiece.

The Illinois Route 66 Road Trip was born out of Peter’s interest in digital matte paintings, and “even more in the possibilities of combining interactivity with digital matte paintings.”

The Flash website project allows viewers to experience the ride along Route 66 through Illinois, while also experiencing the passage of time along the way. Starting in Chicago during the 1920s when Route 66 was born, to the end along the shore of the Mississippi River.

Peter won the MFA Best of Show at last week’s opening of the Academy’s annual Spring Show. Take the tour yourself, and let us know what you think.
